🕺 Let’s cut a rug and talk about my experience at Lisboa Dance Factory Studios. It’s not every day you find a place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a musical, but here I am, tap-dancing on my keyboard to tell you all about it! You will find the studios located between Parque Eduardo VII & the Gulbenkian if you need to duck out for some light cultural relief!
💃 Picture this: Ricardo and Anita, two people who didn’t even know each other’s favorite color, start teaching together in 2005. Fast forward to 2011, and boom – Dance Factory Studios is born. This isn’t just a story of dance; it’s a rom-com waiting to be written. The studio is like a bright, spacious canvas, with Ricardo in charge of the design and Anita waving her magic wand over the decor. It’s so airy and vibrant that I half expected Tinker Bell to show up and sprinkle some pixie dust.
🎶 Walking into Lisboa Dance Factory Studios is like entering a world where everyone spontaneously breaks into dance. And let’s not forget the teachers – over 150 of them have graced this place. I’m convinced they’re secretly superheroes because their power to make you dance is out of this world. In my classes, I’ve tried to mirror their moves, but let’s just say I’m more of a ‘flailing arms’ than a ‘graceful swan’.
🌍 Their journey includes salsa-ing their way through events and training sessions from Lisbon to London, and even Havana. They’ve rubbed shoulders with the stars, like Eddie Torres (basically the Godfather of Salsa). The school’s Latin Dolls show group is like the Spice Girls of dance – each one bringing their own flair to the stage. And let me tell you, their Latin Blues nights? They’re the kind of nights where you enter as a clumsy duckling and leave feeling like a majestic, albeit slightly sweaty, swan.
👯♂️ Now, let’s talk events. If Lisboa Dance Factory Studios was a person, they’d be the life and soul of every party. They’ve got a portfolio that could rival a celebrity’s Instagram – working with big names like Microsoft and McDonald’s. I mean, who wouldn’t want to salsa with a side of fries?
🤝 Their partnership with Avenida Design for their branding and website? Chef’s kiss. Mafalda Penedo is like the fairy godmother of graphic design, turning their vision into a virtual reality. It’s so good that if websites were dancers, this one would be doing pirouettes on the main stage.
💌 And let’s not forget the students. The heart and soul of the studio. From beginners like me, who think two left feet is a challenge to be embraced, to those who glide across the floor like they’re on Dancing with the Stars. The teachers promise to be worthy of us, but honestly, it’s us who are striving to be worthy of their salsa wizardry.
🏆 To sum it up, Lisboa Dance Factory Studios is a place to find your feet, literally and metaphorically. From the wide range of classes to the infectious enthusiasm of the teachers, it’s a whirlwind of fun, feet, and fantastic memories. If you’re looking to add a little sizzle to your step, this is the place. Just don’t blame me if you start seeing life as a musical – because, at Dance Factory Studios, it kind of is!
P.S. Wear comfy shoes. Your feet will thank you! 😉
