🎭 As longtime patrons of the Lisbon Players Theatre, we’ve witnessed its enduring commitment to English-language theatre in the city, and its resilience through very traumatic times. The journey began in Estrella Hall, where the group showcased their passion for the stage. It was disheartening when the forces of corporate interests forced them out of their historic home, depriving the public of a cultural force.

The eviction was a blow to the preservation of the arts and tradition in the face of commercial interests. And then COVID struck and rendered our audience mute…
🏢 New Beginnings in Lisbon’s Theatrical Landscape: However, true to the spirit of resilience, the Lisbon Players Theatre found a new home at ADCEO. This new venue is currently undergoing renovations, promising an exciting future for the group but alas that was not to be as the troupe were again evicted for no discernible reason. 🌟 An ambassador for English-Speaking Theatre: The lisbon players theatre shows are undeniably a stronghold of English-speaking theatre in Lisbon. Since 1947, this amateur theatre group has been a trailblazer, offering captivating performances and enriching the city. They hold an average of 4-6 performances and staged readings and I have been to a great many! Macbeth at Estrlla Hall was a particular favourite,
🎬 Diverse and Thought-Provoking Productions: What sets the Lisbon Players Theatre apart is its commitment to diversity and thought-provoking productions. They bridge the gap between classic and contemporary works, tackling vital social and political issues. The group’s dedication to meaningful storytelling has earned them praise, recognition and the odd picket line.
